Update May 2: Work on Hampton Ave NE repairing the rail crossing has been completed, and traffic is back to normal.
Aiken Railway and the City of Aiken Engineering and Utilities Department will collaborate to repair the rail tracks at Hampton Ave NE and Union St. NE. As a result, Hampton Ave will be temporarily closed on May 2, 2024, from 8 am to approximately 2 pm. Detour signs are in place to direct drivers through alternative routes. Please exercise caution when navigating the designated detours within the work zone.
